No. Mount Rainer is dormant. Its last eruption was in 1894, which is recent in geologic terms. There are no signs of an imminent eruption, but there is little doubt that it will erupt again eventually. An eruption of Mount Rainier would pose a very serious threat to the cities of Tacoma and Seattle. Because of this it is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world.

No. Mount Rainier is dormant. There is some geothermal activity there.
