Yes, because the 2016 presidential election, held in early November, will result in the selecting of a new president, since no US president is allowed to serve more than two consecutive terms (Mr. Obama won in 2008 and was re-elected in 2012). But no, because even though the election will be held in early November, the president does not officially leave office till January 20th of the next year, when the newly elected president is officially inaugurated. So, whatever happens, Mr. Obama will remain in office this year, but leave on January 20, 2017.
