Yes, on my 2008 Astra 1.7CTDi it is in the middle of the engine, at the back, black plastic dome with a big hex nut on it, you need a 32mm socket to remove it. The filter is a paper type beneath this cover.
In the resistor housing, remove the glove box and the metal housing is above the pollen filter
Its not a spin on type filter, its inside a housing on the left side of the exhaust manifold
Engine numbers can sometimes be hard to find. On an Astra, look on the transmission side under the oil filter housing on the cylinder block. You may need to use a rag, cleaner, or even a wore brush to remove any "gunk" that has accumulated on the plate.
The oil filter on a 2008 Saturn Astra is located in front of the engine. The oil filter can be found on the underside of the exhaust manifold towards the passenger side of the vehicle.
If you will crawl under the vehicle and look closely on the engine block you will find the oil filter.
front of engine it is not a spin on filter 1.7 cdti is fitted with an Eco filter you are looking for a black cap with approx 27mm hexagon on it when refitting torque to the figure shown on the cap over tightening will split the housing Good luck
in the big square box front left of engine bay. It has a flexipipe going into it. filter is a flat panel.
Probably in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
if the engine is an 8 valve it is behind the timing belt cover and if its 16 valve its on the front of the engine (os) in a housing with 3 bolts
its behind the camshaft pully you have to remove the timing belt then the camshft pully to get to the thermostat and its housing bit of a nasty job really!!
If its a 1.9cdti Ive just done mine and if you go from underneath its a black plastic cannister which needs a 32mm spanner to undo it. Its an element filter so its inside this plastic cannister, which has like a serratted edge next to where it meets the oil filter housing. It sits approximately half way of the engine width at the bottom of the engine, but you can only access it from the bottom and I removed the plastic shield at the bottom completely to make access easier.
Apologies if this is not same as UK types.Remove the plastic engine top cover by undoing 3 torx30 screws. You should then see a aluminum housing with a black plastic top.You need a 36mm socket to unscrew the top,the paper filter element is then exposed.Replace the filter and use a torque wrench to tighten the plastic top, torque value is only 25Nm,usually this value is moulded into the lid.
