Patagonia is a region in Southern South America. It has mountainous areas, savanas, deserts etc.

It is not a country, state, province or any other political geographical conotation.

It was decribed by Magellan for the people indigineous to the area who averaged 5'11', so he called them Patagons, hence the name, Patagonia
