See website: "Pearl Harbor (film)" for your answer. Oh! The movie. Hollywood movies are very seldom based on history especially when it involves a good-looking hero character. I find it amazing that ANY pilot could have served (a) with the British in England's Battle of Britain and (b) at Pearl Harbor during the attack and (c) volunteered to fly a bomber on the Tokyo raid. The pilots and crew selected for the Doolittle Raid were volunteers from the 17th Bomber Group. How would a pilot transition from P-40 fighters to B-25 bombers in time to be selected for a daring raid that would require excellent flying skill?? Doesn't make sense. Oh, my bad---it wasn't the same pilot who flew all 3 of those battles. Two different guys. You get the drift. Also the aircraft flew much too low in the battle scenes. Planes did not have to fly 30 feet above the ground to drop bombs or even straff with their machine guns.
