Pensacola is definitely not bigger than Birmingham. The city of Birmingham has about 230,000 residents and the metro area has upwards of 1.2 million people. Compare that to a city population of about 53,000 and a metro area population of under 500,000 for Pensacola.

Is Birmingham a important citi to England?

Yes, Birmingham is an important city in England. It's the second largest (although there are claims that Manchester is bigger than Birmingham) and historically Birmingham has been central to industry within the UK. Recently it's undergone alot of redevelopment and it's a really exciting and fun place to visit. I've lived there for five years now and absolutely love it.
