Putin would actually prefer less US involvement or more coordinated US involvement as Russia implements its own foreign policy will in Syria. Currently, the US and Russia have different priorities, with the US wanting to support the Free Syrian Army and Russia wanting to support Assad. Both can agree to oppose Islamic State and Putin would likely prefer cooperation on those grounds, if only to avoid friendly fire.

NO. Putin gave no such order and Obama has actually increased US presence in Syria over the llast year. The exact opposite has happened, with Putin primarily withdrawing from Syria.

In a word yes. Both presidents are Progressives and they seem to have a great affinity for one another. President Putin, as the senior partner have been mentoring and protecting Obama since Obama was elected. Last year Putin saved Obama from his ill-advised "Red Line" policy in Syria. President Obama's single minded focus has been promoting the Affordable Care Act. Putin has been helping Obama on the international stage by moving into geographical areas that Obama wants to abandon. Also Putin offered Edward Snowden sanctuary which gave Obama an out on that crisis. Recently the Right Wing in U.S. (no friend to Obama or Putin) have been attacking the Affordable Care Act. Putin stage a fake crisis in Crimea to distract these mutual enemies. This will give president Obama the opportunity to complete the deployment of Obama care. If necessary President Obama will give Putin all of Ukraine.The only short term casualty is Secretary of State Kerry's Global Warming initiative.

President Obama would also like to work with Putin on eliminating U.S. nuclear weapons but the Republicans will likely block this initiative.

No, because the mission is ongoing. Vladimir Putin was able to get his allies in Syria to agree with a UN proposal to allow inspections and to turn over chemical weapons. The same plan was also proposed by several diplomats, including John Kerry, but fortunately, Putin was able to move it forward, having previously stopped any efforts to punish Syria. It is still unclear whether Syria will in fact turn over all of their chemical weapons, and President Obama has said the US reserves the right to take future action if they do not.

But if your question is really about why President Obama won the peace prize in 2009, he was among the many who expressed surprise; he did not think he deserved such an award, and he said so. Thus, given Mr. Putin's record of refusing to allow diplomacy before, there is no reason to believe he would want to do anything helpful about Benghazi.
