Yes, death row is a process that usually takes around a decade, on average. On rare occasions, there are wrongful convictions, sending innocent men to prison. In turn, when someone is sentenced, especially with something as serious as execution, they have chances to appeal, but most always, the judge continues to find their punishment correct. If he does not succeed on his appeals, it will be a few years before we hear about Scott Peterson's last supper.

∙ 12y agoPeterson's case is in the appeals process which is mandatory with all death penalty cases and takes years due to the overloaded judicial system. Just recently the state of California has put a hold on all executions. With the state's budget in serious crisis, the funds to execute prisoners is non-existant. No word as to when the hold will be lifted. Needless to say, Peterson and other death row residents at San Quentin can temporarily breath a little easier. Peterson continues to proclaim his innocence.
