No. It was relocated once. The original Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, the fourth in California, was founded in 1771 at what is now the city of El Monte, California.
This location was prone to flooding by the San Gabriel River. Because of this flooding, it was decided that the mission would be relocated. The site chosen was at what is now the city of San Gabriel, California, its present location.
