In short, yes. Stephen King makes an appearance in all of his films. Whether it is a cameo by voice or physical appearance he is in them. Just like Stan Lee is in all of his movies. You'd have to look to spot him though, if you aren't looking for him you might miss him, it is usually just seconds.
Many of his novellas were never made into movies: The Library Policeman and the Sundog, from Four past Midnight, The Breathing Method from Different Seasons, all of the four novellas from Full Dark No Stars, all except "Hearts in Atlantis" except for Hearts in Atlantis, and Rage, The Long Walk (which definitely should be made into a movie) and Roadwork from The Bachman Books (written as Richard Bachman) were never made into movies.
The Gunslinger series has yet to even be made into a TV miniseries, not has The Talisman or Black House. Most of Kings later works, such as Bag of Bones, Liseys Story, Duma Key, Cell, Just after Sunset, and From a Buick 8 have not been made into movies. Older books that were overlooked in the cinema world were Insomnia, Geralds Game (what a boring movie that would be), Rose Madder, and The Eyes of the Dragon.
Both The Shining and The Stand were produced into movies.
Many of Stephen King's books have been turned into movies. Since the first adaptation in 1976 (Carrie) there have been a total of 51 films made, all based on the works of Stephen King.
17 Dean Koontz novels have been made into movies.

He hasn't been in every one of his movies; far from it. He's only appeared in a handful of the many, many films based on his books. As for why, it's probably for the same reasons Alfred Hitchcock, M. Night Shyamalan, Quentin Tarantino, and other directors have appeared in their own movies: vanity, as an inside joke for the fans, or just for the fun of participating with the actors who are bringing their movie to life.
Jack Stalwart books are popular and have been made into audio books.

movies, three. books, ENDLESS middle-earth books, but there were originally 9 books, which Tolkien condensed into 3. There were three movies and actually, Tolkien had the three books as one but split into 6 parts. He was later told to split it into three separate books. And as for characters, Sauron is the one Lord of the Rings.
As of now, over 50 books written by Stephen King have been adapted into movies. Some of the popular ones include "The Shawshank Redemption," "It," "Carrie," and "The Shining."
