Every point on earth has both a latitude and a longitude. The first number tells

how far that point is north or south of the equator. The second number tells

how far the point is east or west of a certain line that has been defined as zero.

The center of Stockholm is located at roughly

59.33 degrees north latitude

18.08 degrees east longitude.

Malmö is located at roughly

55.60 degrees north latitude

13.02 degrees east longitude.

The point up north where the boundaries of Sweden, Norway, and Finland all meet

is located at roughly:

69.06 degrees north latitude

20.56 degrees east longitude.

Every point on earth has its own unique set of latitude and longitude numbers. Several

places can have the same latitude, and several places can have the same longitude.

But no two different points can have the same set of both numbers.
