Ummm... no. Science Fiction things are usually based in the far future. Avatar, Star Trek, iRobot they are all sci-fi. Also sci-fi can be just in outer space not in the future. Also I know Star Wars is based a long time ago (in a galaxy far far away) but that would be concided science fiction too. The Ruins of Gorlan is fantasy, not Sci-Fi. If you have seen District9 that would be sci-fi too. Its not too far in the future, and its not based in space, but it does include aliens therefore its science fiction (the same with War of the Worlds).
