Hell no, Lexapro affects your brain in a much different way than acetaminophen, or tylenol. If anything you'll feel more drowsy with these two drugs, considering how both promote drowsiness: Lexapro by promoting the effects of seritonin, and acetaminophen by its analgesic (pain releiving) and anti-inflamitory effects.
Of course it is always possible to overdose. It could be lethal if you were to take to much lexapro at once but if the majority of the lethal dose were tylonol than you would have a slow and very painful death due to liver and kidney failure that could take up to two weeks. So always take as directed and ask your doctor if your dosage seems potentially harmful.
I wouldn't...check drugs.com...there are drug interactions between lexapro and midol, aleve, and advil..stick with tylenol
Lexapro is generally safe to take with Tylenol (acetaminophen) but is not recommended to be taken with Advil (ibuprofen) or any NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) becausecombination of both may increase the risk of bleeding due to synergistic effects, NSAID antiplatelet effects augmented by inhibition of platelet serotonin uptake. The combination increases risk of upper GI bleeding. In short, don't take NSAID's with Lexapro because they can cause stomach bleeding. Tylenol is safe.
Mixing sedating drugs such as Ambien with alcohol can be very dangerous. The nervous system slows down causing respiratory depression which, with higher doses, can be lethal. Depending on how Lexapro affects you, it could causes the same overly sedating reaction when mixed with alcohol. To be wise mix neither, but the Ambien/alcohol combination is quite a bit more risky than Lexapro and alcohol.
A dose of 900 mg of Lexapro (escitalopram) is significantly higher than the typical therapeutic range and could be potentially lethal. While individual responses to medication vary, such a high dose increases the risk of serious side effects, including serotonin syndrome, seizures, and cardiac issues. If someone ingests this amount, it is crucial to seek immediate medical attention. Always use medications as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
Right now I am on Lexapro and I've only taken Tylenol for my headaches. I havent had any harmful effects from it so far. I actually am getting ready to go to my doctor today and this is one of the questions I have planned to ask her so when I get her answer I will edit this and let you know. I am also on Lexapro and would like to add that I take migraine medicaiton (almotriptan) and at different times for stress headache I take "syndol" and don't have any problems with those.
celexa is a generic of lexapro Celexa is not the generic of Lexapro. Its the sister of Celexa. Lexapro will go generic, hopefully, by 2012
