To my knowledge, both systems provide an education of equal quality; however, a UC emphasizes research and provide a variety of Doctorate Degrees. I have met several UC alumni that attended both institutions; some deemed the CSU studies more rigorous. In terms of marketability, a UC is often perceived more prestigious than a CSU, which may prove critical when searching for a job. Hope this helps.
Unless you are extraordinary in sports, your chances are that of zero. The average UC Berkeley GPA is 4.18 and even UC Davis is a 4.0. Plus, the minimum required high school GPA is a 3.0. I have a 4.17 average and I still worry about getting into Berkeley.
