What is a capped major at UC Berkeley?
Asked by Wiki User
A capped major at UC Berkeley is a major that has more qualified applicants than available spots in the program. This means that there is a competitive admissions process to get into the major, and meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Students may need to fulfill additional criteria such as a higher GPA or completion of specific coursework to be admitted into a capped major.
What makes UC Berkeley special?
Asked by Wiki User
Not much, except being ranked second best university in the world (QS 2011) and having produced some darn successful people (e.g. P. Anderson, Zuckerberg and S. Really). Many claim that success in Harvard is much more due to the contacts you make.
Male students tent to also enjoy them selves much. This is because in High School they were friendless nerds, and now are visited by money digging sluts on their little Harvard parties. So they totally feel popular and stuff.

You would need roughly a 4.2 or 4.3 GPA weighted to be in the safe zone for either school, since they have similar requirements. For the SAT, you should ideally have a score of at least 2000, although I have known people who have gotten in with a little less. Remember that extracurriculars and the essay you have to write factor in as well, so make sure not to be remiss in those areas.
