Hi !This only applies assuming that this is a cable/antenna tuner not a HD or digital signal .What you'll need to do is find a free input on your tv such as input 1 , 2 , 3 etc . Connect the vcr to the free input using the ouput on the vcr .Then you will hook up your cable/antenna hookup into your vcr's INPUT or LINE IN whatever they call it . Turn on vcr and tv . Be sure to put tv on proper input which would be what ever free input you decided on for the vcr . Then you'll need to turn your vcr to the tuner input . Sometimes you have to press the input button to get there . From that point you will use the vcr remote to change channels .

AnswerOften a VCR or DVD will have an input as well as an output. Depending on the device, you can leave the input plugged in to your VCR, and plug the output into your home theater, giving you regular input when the VCR is not in use. When the VCR isn't turned on it's just a "pass through" device.

Not sure what your computer does or not but the VCR is the source signal: coax from VCR out ("to TV" or "RF out") plugs into TV ("in" or "RF input"). Once hooked up, tune the TV to ch 3. Then play a tape in VCR and you should be ok. If all ok then plug in an antenna into the "RF in" (antenna in) on the VCR. Tune into a local station, you should be able to catch local programing. not by itself, there must be some tuner controlling the input from the airwaves or the cable. I haven't seen a vcr with no tuner. It would also be difficult to use with no monitor to view the set up of the vcr itself

Sounds like you have something plugged into the auxiliary input on your VCR that's putting the other audio into your recording.
