the lightest type of regular paper is vellum paper it is usually like tracing paper because it is soo light it is translucent that is where you get "translucent vellum paper"
You should use vellum paper for birthday invitations. You can use vellum for overlays, pochettes and wraps as well.
I use a special vellum glue to attach vellum to regular paper. There are a few brands out there and they are all pretty much the same. If you use regular glue it may show through the vellum.
