Ours gets around 21 miles to the gallon all the time.
A good 4x4 small truck with good gas mileage is a Chevy or ford pickup truck. Those have always been some of the small 4x4 trucks that have had good gas mileage.

94-01 Rams average 13mpg in good condition for a 4x4 and around 15-16mpg with a 4x2. The 318 and 360 get similar mileage.
The Ford 150 is currently the best brand of pick up for gas mileage. They are the number 1 seller in the US. The Dodge Ram V6, 4x4 pick up truck beats any of the competition out there with up to 23mpg highway miles. Some of the other good gas mileage pick up trucks include the Dodge Dakota, Toyota Tacoma, and the Chevrolet Colorado.

We flattow a 2007 Dodge Nitro, 2WD(not a 4X4) auto trans, rear wheel drive. The only thing we haven't figured out yetis what fuse to pull so the battery won't drain. Anyone have the answer to this one? I have searched the web and so far can't find it. Thx
They are both good trucks. I guess it comes down to which one has the features in it that you like better. The color, mileage, and price for each should help too.
