If you spank your child already, I would recommend when they're 10 or 11 to stop, and start grounding them. If the child has a iPod, cell phone, laptop, etc., take it away for a week (or 2 if necessary) It will work.

no, i am a 13 year old and would rather have been grounded or put in the corner because....

1. i hate my bottom being touched

2. i was always spanked when i was younger and i feel more mature and deserve better

one solution is sit at the table with both parents and the child and discuss what agreeable punishment should be chosen. dont go to light on the issue, sometimes i even agree that i should be punished!

i think you should be able to spank anyone over age 5. if your doughter lives in the house with u and she is 21, and her father says" u will not be able to smoke in this house!" then he walks in her room and finds her smoking pot, then he should give her a real hard spanking. hopefully she'll remember not to smoke in the house. (or at least not get caught)

Yes they are too old to spank. This is not a good practise anymore and can be illegal in some countries. You should not spank a child's naked bottom as this would be seen as abuse.

That depends on your parents. Twelve is definitely too old for someone to be doing anything that would call for a spanking.
