Yes, and no. Althou physically, they are the same, there are differences.. First, the starter is in the opposite location, and there are no bolt bosses there. You would have to drill, tap, and dye the location to relocate the starter. There are other diferences too..
The 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier motor will fit into the 1997 Pontiac sun fire. The motor mounts and the wiring harness are exactly the same.
You can swap the engine from your 1997 Cavalier 2.2 liter engine to your 2000 Chevy Cavalier. The wiring harness and motor mounts should be in exactly the same.
well being as the 95 and 97 are the same models, there shouldn't be any issues with the swap
Well yes and no. Both have a 2.2 four cylinder if I'm not mistaken, but I don't think the earlier Cavalier's have the EcoTec motor. And you should be able to get the engine from the '03 into the '97 with no problem.
yep its the same size engine bay as long as you got motor and transmission ur good
Yes, 98 & 02 are the same motor. Driver side & passenger side are interchangeable.
No...I belive they came with a 3.1 V-6. There will be a difference in the wire harness, motor mounts, computer software, transmission size, axle difference and many more bad things. The only thing that is the same is the name of the car.
The car engine motor mount holes in the block are in a different place then the truck engines. The engines themselves look the same but they are different. They will NOT interchange SORRY.
The Block is the same...be prepared to change EVERYTHING on the motor to get it to fit.
No, they are not the same.
The 1997 and 1999 Chevy Cavalier transmissions are exactly the same. The transmissions, transmission linkage, and transmission mounts are identical.
the engine that you have in your 01 cavalier WILL NOT work in a 95-00 cavalier. They changed the type of motor that they used in 01. They went from the 2200 I4, to the 2.2l Ecotec in 01. It has more h.p. stock and the spec are completely different then the 3rd gen motors. It will work but you have to change the top end of the motor in other words the block is interchangeable It will fit into the 1997 because cavaliers have sets of years that the cars have same parts like for a 1995 u can fit a 86 engine because Chevy didn't change their specs. I have a 01 trans in my 96. So as long as u get the right specs on your engine it should match ur trans and it will work.
