Its not a terrible car. They are fairly reliable, and if need repaired the costs are cheep. Just make sure to check that it has been taken in for all of the recalls for the year, and the dealer will do the work at no charge by the way. Also check that it has had maintenance kept up on it. DO A CARFAX!! So many people think this is a waste of money but it can save you from getting surprise later in the cars life, most of the time you can get them from dealers for free. My mother owns a 2002 Taurus that we got for her a while back, it has 144,000 miles and drives nicer than my 05 focus. It gets decent mileage considering all she does is drive around town, but is very nice to travel a long trip in as well. But do your research on the car you are interested in buying.
Yes it is a very reliable car. Ocassional problems do occur with a clogged EGR valve on the 3.0 L and failure of the fuel pump. If the car was well maintained it is a very good car.
Yes, but like any car you have to take care of maintenance.
i lost manual for the car and was wondering what the (! with circle around it) meant when it is on in my dashboard

I'm not a fan of Ford, personally, but Ford has really upped their game in the past few years, and the quality of their vehicles is much better now. The sixth generation Taurus gets good reviews, has a good power-to-weight ratio, and gets excellent crash test safety ratings. But remember, a car can only be as good as how it's maintained.
