Dick Cheney used a 28-gauge shotgun when he accidentally shot his hunting partner, Harry Whittington, in a 2006 hunting accident. It was a popular choice for bird hunting.
That's a pretty tall order. Do you have a specific question? The bore diameter of a 28 gauge is .550 inches. A 2 3/4 inch 28 gauge is equivalent to a 3 inch 410. It is not really a popular hunting gun, but is used by many skeet shooters.
A 10, 12, 16, 20 and 28 gauge shotgun is more often considered suitable and widely used for hunting. Another consideration would be what one is hunting such as birds, deer, fox, or squirrels. It is considered a personal preference in hunting.
What gauge string you use is all about personal preference. There is no gauge that is "good" for it its what you like and can use comfortably.
It depends on the load and other factors but a good measure is: 12 Gauge 28" barrel=151.50dB
26
20 gauge is larger
verry good no marks on stock or metel
the 28 guage is fine gun but you had better a great shot to kill any doves with it. I have been hunting doves for thirty years and can only kill about one in ten with a 28. With the price of shotshells for this it gets pretty costly per bird. I know there are people out there who can and do much better than that but if you don't shoot a 28 everyday it is real hard to kill a dove with it.
