It's a bit esoteric.

Let's put it this way, if you are going to get that degree, then with your families connections, or your dazzling genius, land some job advising those who move about in the corridors of power - Yes! If you've an eye on the Rand Corporation (or more to the point, if they have their eye on you), then yes! If you really know you have a lock on some great job that ONLY that degree will get you, yes!

If that is not the case, then you are going to learn an awful lot about a highly specific subject and then...then...

Find yourself overqualified for all the nice pleasant jobs that a simple bachelors in history could have got you.

How does a PsyD degree differ from a Ph.D in psychology?

A PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) degree typically focuses on clinical practice and therapy, emphasizing hands-on training and skills development. In contrast, a Ph.D in psychology places a greater emphasis on research and academic scholarship, with training in experimental design and data analysis. Ultimately, individuals with a PsyD are often more prepared for clinical practice, while those with a Ph.D may pursue careers in research, academia, or clinical practice as well.
