The general rule is that if you're just interested in the unit to receive and send email, the Blackberry is design and suited for this purpose. If you're looking for a general mobile device that can run all kinds of applications besides email and web, then the Treo which is based on the Palm OS is probably a better choice. There are tons of applications available for the Palm OS. There are also units based on Windows Mobile platform which are becoming more popular. However, in the end, it's really a matter of own personal taste. Some people like me have been Palm/Treo users for a log time and have grown accustomed to the environment. Others swear by Blackberry. And still other people I know, are pushing now towards Windows Mobile units.
