Coil packs are analogous to the old distributor systems. Most modern cars do not use distributors anymore. Instead the ignition systems are completely electronic.

If the coil looks the same you should be able to use it and only if the coil isn't mounted in the distributor.

How do you test 2004 Nissan Sentra coil packs?

I figured this same thing out by moving the coil pack around. Leave the plugs in place and try it on different cylinders to see if you get spark. I had been fighting to solve my issue, and turns out it was a $50 fix to replace a bad coil pack that misfired on three different cylinders.

Where is the ignition coil located on a 2004 dodge grand caravan?

The ignition coil is integrated with the distributor cap, they are one unit. On 3.3 Litre at least, probably the other engines too. If there's no coil wire to the distributor (should look the same size as the spark plug wires) then it's a good indication that the distributor is also the coil.

New battery and car wont start even with a jump?

Lots of things. Fuel, timing belt broke, coil or coil pack, fuse, bad spark plugs, spark control or pick up in the distributor. What kind of car, how old, and how did it do when it wouldn't start the first time or what happened when it wouldn't? Many cars have the same thing happen so it helps to know what kind it is.

With multiple misfires originating from the same coil pack, my guess would be to replace the driver's side coil pack.
