Force magnifier... It's basically a lever which pivots around the sharp bend in the metal. This amplifies the force applied to the long arm.

Is a trebuchet a Force Magnifier or a Distance Magnifier?

I'm unsure as to what exactly a distance magnifier is so hopefully someone with expertise in trebuchets can add to this. However I am confident that a trebuchet works on the principle of a lever. A lever is a force magnifier. Yet a trebuchet also uses a sling to launch the projectile in a parabolic arc which has the effect of increasing the distance, so perhaps it qualifies as both? A lever is most often used as a force multiplier, where the load moves through a smaller distance than the applied force, but in the case of a trebuchet the lever is used in the opposite sense. The load moves through a greater distance than the applied force and so the trebuchet is a distance multiplier.

Can a machine multiply input distance?

Force - yes - a crowbar Distance - yes - high gear on a bicycle Energy - no.

How does a crowbar changes force?

A crowbar changes force whenever you lift the crowbar handles up and then put the crowbar handles back to the ground!!!!!

What is a distance magnifier?

it make you go slower than you were going before like if you were on a bike if you pedal it make you go fast which is called distance double and if you dont pedal you it is called a distance magnifier.

When you use a crowbar to lift a heavy rock which force is bigger the weight of the rock or the force applied to the end of crowbar?

the force, otherwise the rock would not move.

Is a wheelbarrow a force multiplier?

a froce magnifier

How much force does it take to break a crowbar?

it takes an extremely large amount of force to break through a regular crowbar. but it should take about 500 pounds of force which is quite a lot.

When you use a crowbar to lift a rock you are working against a force called?

input force

Using a crowbar you apply an effort force of 30 N to pry open a window that has resistance force of 600 N so What is the mechanical advantage MA of the crowbar?

MA= Resistance force / Effort force = 600N / 30 N MA = 20N

How does a crowbar make work easier?

it makes work easier by changing an input force into a larger output force.
