The Mola mola or ocean sunfish eats a large variety of foods. Common prey items are jellyfish, such as Portuguese man-o-war. Squid, sponges, serpent stars,crustaceans,eel grass small fish and the deep water eel grass, eel larvae have also been found in M. mola intestinal tracts proving that they forage for food at the surface, among the floating weeds, on the seafloor and into deep water.
