The Kindle (by Amazon) only has around 700,000. The kindle has free 3G everywhere you go that connects to the internet, but the nook has 3G for buying books in its store. The nook also has a lending feature so you can borrow or lend books that you buy, and even check out books from the library from the comfort of your couch.

Even though the kindle fire only has 8 gb and the nook tablet has 16 gb the kindle fire has unlimited space in the cloud. The kindle fires videos and movies look so much better then the nooks. Also with the nook you have to go on your laptop to download music to it. Or buy pandora witch has bad songs. Volume on the kindle fire is so much better. There the same size but the kindle fire feels so much better. Also the kindle fire is 50$ cheaper.

According to research it seems that the Kindle and the Nook are virtually the same. You'll probably end up paying more for the Kindle because it is a newer product.
Does the nook color use the same size charger the nook?
The color uses a micro USB cable but the power source at the plug-in side is much larger and more powerful (1.9A for the nook color vs. 850mA for nook vs. 500-650mA for standard USB power). I tried to plug my regular nook charger into my nook color but without the larger plug in power box that comes with the nook color, it will not charge. In B&N customer help books for nook color they say specifically not to use a power source other than one that is made specifically for nook color. I didn't push the issue once I saw my nook color wouldn't show a charging icon when plugged into my regular nook AC source cord.
Is a nook better than a iPad?
Nook, most definitely. Not only is it prettier, but it has a touch screen at the bottom for easier navigation than the Kindle. It holds more books than the kindle (1,500) and is really cool. I would do your research,, though, and see which fits you. The new Kindle has a keyboard at the bottom, but there is a new Nook called Nook Color, that is completely touch screen and in color, while the nook's screen is black and white, but the touch screen is color. Go to bn.com (barnes and noble's website) and do you research. Read some reviews, watch a few videos. P.S the Nook is cheaper currently.

Basically a Nook is just like a regular book. You cannot read a regular book without light, so it's the same with the Nook. Sunlight does not make reading harder.
How do you share books in Kindle?
You can share books on different Kindles if they are registered on the same amazon account. If they are on the same account, all the books that can be shared are in the Archived Items on the home page. If they are not registered on the same account, you can switch the registration and download the books on the Kindle and then switch back to your own account.
