Knit is a type of fabric but different in the way it is made. Silk and linen are woven tightly. Knit is usually made of a loosely woven fabric that allows it to stretch in different directions. Linen is made from cotton and real silk is made fom the strands of the silk worm and therefore very expensive. Linen and silk are very stable in that they have no stretch. Silk and linen are made from aninal materials and can be worn all year round but are especially comfortable in the summer's heat and humidity. Knits are usually made from plant material usually cotton but some knits are synthetic materials. are made with manmade fibers.
