Even though we are comparing apples and Oranges, I'll say a molecule of water is more complex than an atom of an element of the molecule, and less complex than the nucleus of a cell.

Water and nonpolar molecules do not easliy mix?

Water and oil doesn't mix because the water is a polar molecule and oil is a non-polar molecule. There will always be more molecules of water than oil.

Water is a polar molecule because?

Oxygen is more electronegative than hydrogen and creates a dipole moment.

What type of molecule is a water molecule?

A water molecule is made up of two hydrogen atoms attached to one oxygen atom. The unique way in which they bond causes one are of the molecule to be negative and the other area to be positive. A water molecule is bonded in two ways" it has a polar covalent bond, and a hydrogen bond, making it very strong. 1) Water is a universal solvent, which means that other molecules are dissolved in it2) Water is a cohesive. This means it sticks to other molecules surfaces.Water protects organs. It allows for the transport of molecules and provides lubrication, as well.3)Water stabilizes body temperature does not change temperature quickly)/4) Water ionizes. I breaks apart into hydrogen ions and hydroxyl ions. ( Ions are positively or negatively charged charged).5) Water has a higher capacity to heat than most other common things; it also freezes into ice or turns into steam, a gas.5) Water is considered neutral on the pH scale, coming in at a pH of 7.

What does it mean for a water molecule to be polar?

It means there is a positive side and a negative side to it. The 2 atoms of Hydrogen in a water molecule bond asymetrically to the oxygen atom. Like this O / \ H H Instead of this way H--O--H The molecule then has a more positive charge on the Hydrogen side of the molecule and a negative charge on the Oxygen side. ( When a molecule is polar, it means that the molecule has been given a charge. In water, H2O, Oxygen has a charge and so does hydrogen. However, because there is such a large difference in electronegativity between the Oxygen and the Hydrogens, then the distribution of electrons within the molecule becomes uneven. This causes one end of the molecule to contain a slightly postive charge and the other end to possess a slightly negavtive charge. ) Hope This WiLL HeLp u !! ))

Molecule of water?

A molecule is when one or more atoms are chemically combined. This is generally done with more than one element. The water molecue has two atoms of hydrogen to every one of water. This is indicated by the little 2 in H2O.

Why is water a polar molecule?

The water is a polar molecule because it is not equally charged. Its half side has a positive charge and the other half has a negative charge. because the electrons spend more of their time with the oxygen and not with hydrogen and due to this they get more negative charge and due to this the water is a polar molecule.---------------------------------------------------------------1. The water molecule is not linear.2. Oxygen is more electronegative than hydrogen.3. As a consequence the hydrogen atoms are slightly positive and the molecule is polar.

Which end of a water molecule is more elctronegative?

Oxygen end.

Does a water molecule have more protons than electrons?

A substance or a molecule containing carbon-carbon bonds or carbon-hydrogen bonds?

The presence of carbon or hydrocarbons in a molecule usually means it is an organic molecule. Organic molecules are usually more complex than inorganic molecules.

Why are mitochondrion called energy centers for the cell?

The mitochondrion is considered the energy center of the cell because this is where a majority of the cell's ATP or Adenosine TriPhosphate is produced. ATP serves at the primary energy transfer molecule within the cell because of its stability and ease of energy release. For more information, look up "Electron Transport Chain"
