Monitor is an output device of computer that show the result of our work display the soft copy of our work.

A printer can be connected via USB cable or wirelessly to a computer in order to produce paper copies of what is displayed on your computer monitor. Printers are completely optional computer accessories, while monitors are more essential so you can see what's on your computer.
A input device is when you put something into the computer. A output device is when something from a computer comes out, either a hard or soft copy. So, I think it would be a input device, because you are putting a direction to turn on!
