∙ 12y agoBoth. If you run your hand down the length of the shark, from head to tail, it will feel relatively smooth. If you run your hand in the opposite direction, from tail to head, it will be rough. It is called denticles and helps with streamlining the shark. In earlier times shark skin was used as sand paper.
