I doubt if you can still buy a slingshot in the toy section, but when I was a kid, you could buy 'toy' slingshots that were barely powerful enough to crack a window at close range. Practically any BB gun has more power than that. You can buy hunting slingshots and 1/4 " steel shot in sporting goods stores that are suitable for hunting small game. Only a few BB guns are even close to this and even fewer very expensive ones are more powerful.
