Specialized has a whole range of bicycles. While they're all probably better than department store bikes, there are big differences within the range.
But for their price range, Specialzed bikes are fairly average.
There's really no telling. Specialized has a range of bikes, at different price levels. On top of that they can be bought new, used or on sale.
Specialized-S works are a type of bike. There are different models of this type of bike, and they can be purchased from a number of online retailers and stores.
Specialized is one brand, Everest another. The everst bikes I've seen don't look that special to me.

Specialized dot com is a great place to purchase a specialized road bike. One could order customized bikes to their specific size, style and needs. They also offer many replacement parts.
having been a beginner my self a couplke of years ago I would recommend you get your cycling legs with hybrid bike and once comfortble then get a racing bike a hybrid has a more up right stance and will hurt your bum less but is a good investment if you go for a Specialized FX series or Trek after you can do some distances regularly you will knoe what you want out of a bike
either company makes exceptional bikes, but i prefer specialized. If you were talking about specific models, i would be able to recommend one over another. what's your budget, and what type of bike do you want?

Well i like the specialized demo bike if you are doing downhill riding or trek fuel ex for other stuff
some of the best road bikes are carbon fiber GT's, Trek's, or Specialized for example the Trek Madone (lance Armstrong's bike) or the GT 2009 GTR Carbon Sport. But if your looking for a commuter or comfort not racing, get a older bike like a Peugeot or Biachi, both of those brands include trekking bike too. I like Specialized Allez
Good for price get it
NOOOO! Do not make that mistake!! A lighter bike is a better bike. I own a Specialized FSR Comp that weighs about 30lbs, but I'll probably lighten it. Lighter bikes are much easier to uphill as well.
