What we typically think of as a UTI is an infection caused by germs that are near the urethra, but can cause symptoms if they ascend into the reproductive tract. These kinds of infections aren't spread by sex, but sex can make them more likely. These infections can happen in sexually active and non-sexually active people.

On the other hand, sexually transmitted diseases can infect the urinary tract. Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trichomoniasis can cause painful urination if they infect the urethra.

UTI is not a STD.
A UTI is not considered a sexually transmitted infection. UTIs are more common, however, in young women who are sexually active. This is thought to be caused by increased irritation of the vaginal and periurethral tissues by the penis during intercourse, causing increased bacterial transmigration up the urethra and into the bladder. This is why it is recommended that women urinate after sexual intercourse.
GENERALLY NO! Most of the bacteria or STDs require a live "Host" or are killed when exposed to ambient air-atmosphere. Remember the RED toilet seats in the Military? Then it was believed that STDs could be transmitted by toilet seats, door knobs or other materials. Dear Abby said it best" STDs are transmitted through SEX! Hence, the name Sexually Transmitted....!
NO!
Water infection is not a STD.
No it is not a STD.
No, because they are not transmitted through sex, as in through the fluids...

However, many people contract them after having sex, because they either A) didnt shower before sex and bacteria from the genital region entered the urinary tract, or B) the woman didnt pee after sex; peeing within ten minutes after sex can prevent UTI's by flushing bacteria out.

no one knows haha :):):):):)

No, UTIs can't turn into STDs. However, some STIs have the same symptoms as urinary tract infections. Talk to your health care provider about appropriate testing.
A UTI will not lead to a STD.

No, the symptoms of bladder infection are symptoms. A symptom is not a disease.

If you're asking if bladder infection is an STD... not really. It could be, but there are other potential causes as well.

Can urinary tract infections cause women to give a STD to a man?

To answer the question is somewhat difficult being that these two illnesses are completely different. One is a urinary tract infection which is caused by a bacteria getting into the urinary system and has nothing to do with an STD (sexually transmitted disease). So to answer your question I will offer three different answers. 1) No, urinary tract infections are not contagious and are very common in women. 2) No, a urinary tract infection can not cause an STD. 3) One must have an STD in order to give another an STD; which again has nothing to do with a urinary tract infection. Anyone can get a urinary tract infection and it has nothing to do with intercourse; even animals can get these infections. Hope this helps and take care, Jupiter's Dawn
