MD's are too busy attending to human patients. You can get a prescription from your vet and have it filled at any drug store by the pharmacist. Just tell them the weight of your pet. Vets give in many cases give human medications to animals, but charge more. When I've had a drug that is extremely expensive for my pet, I take it to my pharmacist.

∙ 14y agoAn MD probably shouldn't be prescribing veterinary products as animals are not what medical doctors go to school to school to learn how to take care of. A licensed veterinarian (D.V.M. or V.M.D.) should treat your pet and prescribe the necessary products for him or her.
