Yes, on average a cougar will almost always be larger than a wolf.

Adult cougars stand about 60 to 76 centimeters (2.0 to 2.5 ft) tall at the shoulders. The length of adult males is around 2.4 meters (8 ft) long nose to tail, with overall ranges between 1.5 and 2.75 m (5 and 9 ft) nose to tail suggested for the species in general. Males typically weigh 53 to 90 kilograms (115 to 198 pounds), averaging 62 kg (137 lb). In rare cases, some may reach over 120 kg (264 lb).

Wolf weight varies geographically; on average, European wolves may weigh 38.5 kilograms (85 lb), North American wolves 36 kilograms (79 lb), and Indian and Arabian wolves 25 kilograms (55 lb). Though rarely encountered, extreme specimens of more than 77 kilograms (170 lb) have been recorded in Alaska and Canada. The heaviest recorded gray wolf in the New World was killed on 70 Mile River in east-central Alaska on July 12, 1939 and weighed 79 kilograms (170 lb), while the heaviest recorded wolf in the Old World was killed after World War II in the Kobelyakski Area of the Poltavskij Regionin the Ukrainian SSR, and weighed 86 kilograms (190 lb). In general, height varies from 0.6 to 0.95 meters (24 to 37 in) at the shoulder.

Why are wolves stronger than coyotes?

Wolves are bigger, deeper in the chest and have a larger, broader head and jaw than coyotes do. This is primarily what makes them great hunters at taking down an animal that is bigger than themselves. Coyotes are more finer in bone structure and smaller in size and weight than a wolf, thus making them less stronger in comparison to a wolf.

Can you breed a coyote and a wolf?

Yes, coyotes and wolves seem to interbreed in the wild even. In the northeast United States wolves are quite rare but coyotes are common. The few wolves seem to be breeding with coyotes and producing animals that are bigger than the average coyote but smaller than an average wolf. For more information, click on this link.

Do coyotes live in Egypt?

As far as I know, Coyotes don't live in Egypt, but a closer relative _ the Egyptian jackal (also known as the African jackal) _ does! They are considered as a wolf jackal (smaller than a grey wolf, but bigger than a normal jackal). It's not known for sure if its ancestors are the gray wolf or the golden jackal, or who knows may be both!! Note: The Coyote is an exclusively North American animal and therefore does not live in Egypt.

Are coyotes more vicious than wolves?

No no way. Coyotes could maybe put up a fight against you. But a wolf would tear a coyote up. wolves have a bite force per pound more then 1,000 pounds. Coyotes could be mean but in a wolfs case. Not close!
