Not always the jewelry is stamped, however, no stamp doesnt mean it is not genuine.

Not necessarily. Older pieces were not stamped with karat weight so it is possible to have a "real" piece of jewelry (i.e., one made of genuine gold or silver) and not see a mark on it.
