Emo isn't suicidal.
Emo is a genre of music and a style for hair and clothing. Emo is just people who are very emotional and express themselves through music or art. Some say emos cut their wrists and want to die. This is incorrect. The genre who cut are known as the cutters or goths, not emos. Emos express themselves rather than hide their feelings.
The style of long (especially black) hair, combed back is connected with emo but not a requisite. They don't dress up in all black (that is mainly goth). Emo wear plain shirts and jeans, sometimes close fitting.
I know emos and they are very hurt when people ask questions like this because most people believe the rumours. Emo isn't suicidal or wrist slitting. Its a style.
