Heavens no ... there are many amateurs that write some very successful songs or compositions all over the world. Some, like myself, write for our own amusement and other people's amazement. A basic understanding of Counterpoint is necessary, but that is easily learned these days with the internet at our fingertips for reference.
Agreed with above. Anyone who has a basic sense of melody and basic instrument skills (or possibly with sampled instruments) can write a song. If you can play two chords on guitar or piano, you can compose a song. Of course, the more you practice, the better you get at composing songs (in general). But yeah, pretty much anyone can compose a song with very basic composition skills. Many mainstream artists can't even read sheet music, have no idea what chords they are playing, etc.
Compose in music terms means to wright a song for instance if you wrote a song and possibly called it Save or Cancel or Full befits or whatever then you are a composer you composed a song and that definition only takes place in music.

nina nai nai is folk music. It might be of assyrian origin but there is no known composer.
If you don't know how to compose, i'd suggest to first look at already written songs, learn to compose by studying music theory, or just listening to some music you like. Then if you have a song, the melody is the part of the song you would sing to. The harmony and the bass are there just to accompany the melody. After you have a song, and identified the melody, all you need to know is how to play to the piano itself.
