the monthly rate for a vodofone varies depending on the number of months you sign up for. for a 24 month plan i saw prices from $20.50 all the way up to $31. they also appear to have 18 month and 12 month plans. so really the price varies on the terms.
It simply means extending your current contract for a further period. For example - My original Three Mobile contract was for 18 months. Towards the end of that period - they offered me a 12-month extension on the same plan, with a reduced monthly fee.
The majority of phone companies will usually offer you a 'free' upgrade within the final month of your contract. They do this for two reasons... (1) they keep you as a customer and (2) they tie you into another lengthy term (usually at least 12 months). If you're happy with your phone - you will usually get a much cheaper monthly tariff by keeping it - rather than getting a new phone. Every new 'free' phone you get is paid for - by a higher monthly payment !I have had the same phone for a few years - when I first got it (3 Mobile) - I was paying £12 a month on an 18-month contract. When I renewed my contract (for 12 months) - they dropped my monthly payment to four pounds just because I decided to keep the phone !
