In "Buddhism" anger is looked upon as an obstacle that gets in the way of your Enlightenment. On one, anger is not "judged" as "evil," and on the other hand it is not indulged either: the idea is to watch how anger twists your perception of reality and therefore gets in the way of your enlightenment.
Anger is just one of the many emotions that distract you from seeing reality, as it is. So, anger is a temporary reality, a temporary action of your mind, and like all actions of the mind it is an obstacle to be watched(especially during meditation, but also when you are not meditating). By watching anger, how it builds up inside you, by learning how it distorts your view of reality, you will eventually see how it subsides, as well.
In Buddhism, you do not walk/run away from anger, but you do not indulge in it either: you have to find the middle path, the "middle way" through it by understanding it in every aspect.
