Anne of Cleeves was a German noblewoman, and certainly not a boy.

After the death of his third wife, Jane Seymour, days after giving birth to their son, Edward; eventually Henry VIII was persuaded to marry again. But his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves was chosen through sight of a portrait Henry had commissioned, and when he saw her in the flesh, he was extremely unhappy with her appearance (he called her "the Flanders Mare"). The marriage did go ahead, on 6 January 1540, but Henry refused to consummate the marriage, so this was also annulled. However, at least Anne of Cleves was generously "paid off" and did not lose her head.
