Same color as what?
antifreeze is usually mixed 50 / 50 with preferably distilled water for your cooling system ( up to 60 % antifreeze if colder climate ) which includes the radiator , heater core , radiator hoses , heater hoses etc.
I'm having the same problem with my 92. Check the antifreeze level first, if there is too much in there, it will overflow when ran. Then check your reservoir cap, make sure its on there tight and not leaking. Next check the hoses running to the head and radiator. Make sure there are no leaks. If you still haven't found a leak then check the release or "weep hole" on your water pump for leaks or steam. If no signs of leakage in any of your coolant components, then your problem may be in the radiator. Hope this helps.
i have a 94 thunderbird and the same thing happens to me,the liquid your seeing is a creamy orange right? the seal between your radiator and your transmission is broke causeing the pressure to built up in your tranny making the liquid leak into your antifreeze....sorry to say but do what i did...buy a new radiator! its the only way to fix it!
you could be low on antifreeze, could be a plugged radiator, or the radiator could be dirty. I had the same problem with my Dodge Ram and it was a plugged radiator
Not quite. Anti-freeze is the undiluted liquid that you mix with water (usually 50:50). The proper term for the mixture is "Coolant". I would say that "coolant" and "radiator fluid" are synonymous.
same thing happened to me. it is the antifreeze return line. rubber hose. access the oil filter spot and connects radiator to water pump i think.
Don't use the same one in the windshield bottle as the radiator. Boy, did I learn a lesson there. Your owner's manual will tell you what you need to know.
permanent type of antifreeze for aluminum engine and radiator mixed 50/50 green same as in autos
Yes, you can add antifreeze / coolant to a car without flushing the radiator. It's best to use the same type that's already in your car / truck - conventional or long-life. Antifreeze / Coolant comes in 'Full Strength' which needs to be mixed with distilled water (usually 50/50 for mild weather regions, and more antifreeze 70/30 for really cold weather regions.) Also available is pre-mixed 50/50 antifreeze. PEAK Antifreeze & Coolant protects from -84 degrees to 276 degrees Fahrenheit when mixed 70/30. If it's been 2-3 years since a flush & fill for conventional antifreeze / radiator fluid, or 5 years for 'long life' antifreeze, it's likely time for a flush & fill.
I had the same probs with my 96 sunfire and after doing this the heat gauge dropped towards the middle and stayed: Change out the thermostat. Then... Drain your radiator and shoot water through it to clean it out (you can do this by unhooking your radiator hoses and sticking a hose through one and turning on the water while your engine is running). Then, make sure you get 2 large bottles of antifreeze (remember to get the half water half antifreeze) Then put the antifreeze in your radiator resevour and run your car and keep adding to it as the radiator sucks the antifreeze back in and it stops sucking. Make sure you watch the gauge after all this and if it goes up, check your water level and see if you need to add more antifreeze. Since the thermostat is replaced, your fan should also work! This should def. fix your problem! If not then check things such as the head gasket, water pump, rotting hoses, leaking resevour.
TAke it to the garage. You have problems that need to be looked at. WELL I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY CAR SAME EXACT THING........ THE LEAKING WAS THE RADIATOR, THE RADIATOR SIDE COVER WAS LEAKING SO I HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR THATS ONE THING FIX, THE OTHER WAS THE FANS THE MAIN FAN WAS NOT WORKING SO YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE RADIATOR FANS .... AND THAT WOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM WITH THE OVERHEATING AFTER THAT MAKESURE YOUR WATER PUMP IS GOOD MAKE SURE AFTER ALL THAT REPAIRS CHECK FOR LEAKS UNDERNEATH THE TIMING COVER IF YOU SEE LEAKS , THEN YOUR WATER PUMP WENT OUT THEN THAT WOULD BE ANOTHER BIG PROBLEM
I don't know, but I have the same problem. My radiator cracked and my battery light and brake light came on ALL at the same time! I got my new radiator today and went to crank the car to drive it to my friend's house and it wouldn't crank. Ggrrrr...I hate being a girl sometimes! == my answer == Commonly this is caused by the failure of the accessory (known as fan or alternator belt) drive belt This causes the alternator to quit working and the engine to overheat, perhaps ruining the engine.
