Racism is caused by ignorance. People have a tendency of not accepting anyone who is unlike themselves.
Why would anyone like racism?
Look at it this way: There is very little, if any, evidence that racism is instinctive. There are mountains of evidence that racism is a learned behavior - it is taught from one generation to the next. When people stop teaching it, it virtually disappears.
