Why does Yahoo Answers give more serious answers than WikiAnswers?
The community there is more serious. Maybe they take better control over the answers given to make sure there is no spam and nonsense. Personally, today I discovered WikiAnswers with a Google search, and so far like it than yahoo. The reason there are more silly and nonsense answers here is that ANYONE can answer, not just a registered user. Many IP users abuse that privilege because they are anonymous. When an entire IP is blocked, other people suffer for their foolishness.
Why doesn't Wikianswers make their website better like Yahoo Answers?
Yahoo! Answers uses a different format, much like Quora. They allow each user to give their own answers. We try for a unified community answer. Besides, who is to say that Yahoo! Answers is better? The last time I was there, it was nothing but trolls. Also, the administrators often make bad calls, supporting bullies and those who have PC views while banning the victims.
