Yahoo Answers is better:

Question Structure

WikiAnswers is designed more to answer universal and relatively simple one line questions.

Yahoo answers can answer more complicated and personalized questions.

Audience

Yahoo currently has a wider community who comes to both ask and answer questions. As Yahoo is a web portal, people who come to Yahoo for other things (eg. web search, e-mail or news) may also find themselves asking or answering questions. The personal nature of Yahoo attracts more people to Yahoo.

WikiAnswers has a smaller user base, and is not tied to a major portal.

Answers

On WikiAnswers, answers tend to be relatively better. Answers can evolve over time, as opposed to only having to be entered within a few days of the initial question. Yahoo Answers has much more false/unhelpful answers, and much more spam.

User Powers

On Yahoo Answers, every user is treated equally in terms of powers, but there are limits to how much one can do each day depending on the level they are at. One vote counts as one vote. On Wiki Answers, supervisor powers trump regular users.

On Yahoo Answers, you can preview your answer; on Wiki Answers, you can not.
