Believe it or not, yes, bacon is considered a finger food! According to Miss Manners, crisp rashers of bacon can be properly eaten with the fingers. If it is limp and not crispy, a knife and fork should be used.

Finger foods are small items such as canapés; any food which can be picked up easily with the fingers, without causing the fingers to become too messy, and preferably eaten in one bite. Finger foods can be served on crackers or small shapes of toast but do not have to be served that way.

Bacon is used in finger foods, such as angels on horseback - oysters wrapped in bacon and grilled (broiled) until the bacon is crisp. Bacon is ideal for wrapping small morsels of food in this way, usually secured with a toothpick before cooking.

When I render down bacon fat by cutting it free from the lean part of the bacon rasher, placing in a cold pan, setting the heat to medium-high and allowing it to crisp up while the melted fat runs free for later cooking, I frequently serve the resulting crisp pieces of bacon in a small bowl to be eaten as a snack, so in that case bacon is used alone as a finger food. Otherwise it isn't considered a finger food in its own right.

Not really; but you can eat them with your fingers if no utensils are available.
