Is atheism a bad religion

Firstly, Atheism is not a religion. There is no set of beliefs required to be an atheist. Atheism is a lack of belief in deities. That is it.

Now let's address 'Is atheism bad?' This seems a rather silly question to me. It's almost like asking 'Is not believing in fairies bad?' I fail to see how lacking a belief in something can be considered bad or immoral.

When you look at atheism and religion, atheism fails to exhibit many of the traits of a religion. It would therefor be bad at being a religion if it were a religion which it isn't (any more than not playing Baseball is a sport).."Religion things" that atheism doesn't do include these things.

Atheism doesn't require you to:

• believe in an invisible unprovable being and feel inferior to it
  
• deny that can figure out things like don't murder and don't steal on their own without being told
  
• use a book of contradictory instructions which are not immediately obvious in intent to its followers as the rules for your life
• live tour own life without comment
• support job opportunities for a priesthood to do nothing except to stroll around feeling superior to others
• gather weekly to be told they are inferior and sinful and be given advise by a poorly educated cleric who does not have to face their problems or justify their positions on issues
• suck money to of its followers as tithes
• promote tax avoidance schemes and free rides from society for "the cause"
• understand the "dignity and tradition" of fancy outfits worn by its leaders like clergy
• provide multi million dollar collections of art and massive del estate holdings paid for by generations of followers
• expect government protection
• expect belief without proof
• see as normal the imposition of its position on others like Xmas music or days of prayer
• to follow and approve programs to conquer and convert other nations "for their own good"
• admire and get nostalgic about dreadful hymns to be sung (badly) by cute children at festivals and on holidays
• oppose secular science which offers cures for diseases, labor saving devices and explanations that are provable for most of the observable universe
