Maybe, but you should call your veterinarian immediately to let them know what happened. The vet will ask you what size the pill was and how big your dog is, then either have you bring the dog into the clinic or give you a list of symptoms to watch for over the next few das.

NO. Over-the-counter pain medications (all of them - Bayer, Tylenol, Advil, etc.) are very dangerous to dogs because they are very sensitive to the side effect that causes stomach bleeding. I have known of dogs to DIE from one pill that put a hole in the stomach and the dog bled out.

Naproxen sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, and although it is not typically a safer drug to choose for dogs in this category of medications, a one time administration at this amount is generally not going to affect him lethally. However, it is more potent than aspirin and takes quite a few days for this to come out of their system and be metabolized and excreted. If your dog is on any other anti-inflammatory medications, do not give them, and do call your vet and let them know what happened. Do not give any other medications for the next week without talking to your vet first.

Your dog has ingested a dose which will likely cause gastric ulceration. If it has been in the past hour, I suggest inducing vomiting .I hope this is helpful to you! and if you cant get your dog to trow up, then I would go to a vet!

It depends on how much was swallowed and the size of the dog. If it was only one pill then it should be fine.

NEVER give advil to your dog. You can give buffered aspirin and that is about it. 1st Answer: they can but only like advil, and only if the vet says its ok.

Is it ok to give your sheltie a baby aspirin for arthritis?

No - dogs are very sensitive to the side effects of aspirin (and all other human pain medications like Tylenol, Advil, Aleve, Motrin, etc) and you can cause a serious medical reaction or even kill your dog with aspirin. If you think your dog would benefit from some pain medication, you will need to talk to your veterinarian about it - there are safe pain meds for dogs, but it takes a veterinary prescription to get them.
